1. Information We Collect

ZankoLink adheres to strict data minimization principles under international data protection laws and Google Play Developer Policies. We collect only the following minimum necessary data:

Account & Authentication Data

When you sign in via Google OAuth 2.0 or Email: Full Name, Email Address, and Avatar URL provided securely by the authentication provider. We do not access passwords or private Google account resources.

User-Provided Academic Data

High School Branch (Scientific or Literary), Governorate, and Grade 12 Subject Marks submitted manually within the calculator wizard solely for calculating weighted admission scores.

2. How We Use Your Information

Computing accurate weighted university admission score estimates based on official criteria.
Synchronizing student saved department wishlists and calculator scores across web and mobile sessions.
Delivering important academic announcements, Zankoline submission dates, and admission results.
Ensuring platform security, preventing fraudulent activity, and verifying authorized access.

3. Third-Party Integrations & Cloud Infrastructure

ZankoLink utilizes industry-standard, privacy-certified service providers:

Google OAuth 2.0 (Sign In with Google): Utilized for secure, one-tap identity verification. ZankoLink only receives your public profile email and name without any access to your Google password or private drive files.

Our Secure Cloud Database: All user records, marks, and wishlist rankings are stored on our dedicated, encrypted cloud infrastructure protected with TLS encryption in transit and strict Row Level Security (RLS) policies.

Push Notification Delivery Services: Device tokens are used exclusively to deliver essential academic updates and admission deadlines.

4. Push Notifications Privacy & User Controls

We respect your digital wellbeing and maintain clear, transparent notification policies:

Purpose of Notifications

Notifications are sent exclusively for official Ministry announcements, Zankoline portal opening dates, admission results, and important academic offers.

Device Token Security

Your device push token is securely stored and is never shared with third-party marketing firms or advertising brokers.

Opt-Out & User Controls: You may enable, disable, or customize notification permissions at any time through the in-app Settings view or your device system application settings.

5. Data Retention & 30-Day Account Deletion Rights

All ZankoLink users retain full rights to delete their accounts and wipe all associated data at any time:

30-Day Deletion Grace Period Policy

Upon submitting an account deletion request (either from the mobile app settings or via our web deletion portal), your account is placed into a 30-day pending state. During this 30-day grace period, if you sign back in, your account will be restored. After 30 days, your account, grade records, saved preferences, and tokens are permanently and irreversibly purged from our servers.

6. Children's Privacy

ZankoLink is designed for high school graduates and university applicants (ages 16+). We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal data from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal data to us, please contact us for immediate deletion.

7. Data Security & Encryption Standards

We employ strict industry-standard technical measures including TLS 1.3 encryption in transit, encrypted storage at rest, strict Row Level Security (RLS) on database tables, and automated vulnerability scanning to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration.
